Rizal Monument, Japan

In 1998, Hibiya Park in Tokyo City installed a bronze bust of Rizal. The statue is located where the hero remained for 45 days before embarking on his journey to Europe. Rizal immersed himself in Japanese culture throughout his visit, according to historians. He studied the culture, appreciated the arts, and engaged with the locals. Rizal, unsurprisingly, found love in the country. Seiko Usui was the personification of everything the hero admired about Japan.
