The Berrien County Historical Association (est. 1967) operates the History Center at Courthouse Square, located in Berrien Springs, Michigan. Guests will have a chance to explore four historic buildings through our temporary and permanent exhibits. Our online museum allow for us to showcase smaller collections, complement existing exhibits, and allow for specialty one-day exhibits that we would not be able to mount elsewhere.

Short Bio
The Berrien County Historical Association was established in 1967 to preserve the 1839 County Courthouse, the oldest of its kind in Michigan. Since then we've grown to include four other buildings that are known collectively known as The History Center at Courthouse Square. Visitors to our grounds can explore the Murdock Cabin, the fourth oldest building in Michigan; dive deep into our history through temporary exhibits inside the 1870 Sheriff's Residence; experience hands-on history inside Bennett's Forge; and in the future, walk the halls of the 1860/1873 Records Building.
We are open Wednesdays through Sundays, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and our admission is $5.00 per person, with Berrien County Park passholders, BCHA members, and children under 5 years old free. You can learn more about our organization by visiting our website, berrienhistory.org.
