Kim In-Seung (1910-2001)
Kim In-Seung's style influenced by the oil painting technique of the early Japanese naturalistic style, which carries Impressionism and post-Impressionism characteristics. During the war period, Kim's works demonstrated a strong pro-Japanese standpoint like the sketch "Nursing Soldier" (1944). After liberation, however, he tried to detach himself from the old pro-Japanese image by painting lifeless natrualistic portraits and series of rose paintings, earning himself the name of "the roses painter."
