Lee Jung Seob (1916-1956)
Lee Jung Seob was a Korean artist born in South Pyeongan Province in 1916. He studied art in Pyeongan, Jeongju and Tokyo, Japan at Teikou Art School. Lee started his career during Japanese colonialism, and made art with themes of maintaining Korean identity through the use of different symbols and techniques. He also helped to modernize Korean Art as well through the western influences on his art which shows in his famous oil paintings and vibrant colors of some of his pieces.
