Before Yuan Dynasty, there were not many operas, Canjun Oprea was one of them. This early form of Chinese Opera was developed in Tang and Song Dynasty. During Yuan Dynasty, Chinese opera developed rapidly. Zaju and Nanxi were two of the most important operas in Yuan Dynasty.
