During the Republic of China, the emergence of the Yue Opera, a quite popular style in China with it's portrayal of all characters from actresses, creating a beautiful and successful operatic style through an all female cast. In addition, an array of films were produced with complex and stunning costumes alluding to both Chinese and westernized affiliations.
